Miner Weekly: Introducing TheMinerMag
One-stop data platform focusing on bitcoin mining companies
Dear friend,
Q3’22 was a challenging quarter for miners.
If it makes anyone feel better, BTC bottomed in December 2018 about two months after the network difficulty hit a then-all-time high. Four years later, the network difficulty again hit a fresh high in November.
Whether history rhymes or not, we do not make the rules. What we can do though, is buidl during the bear market and continue contributing to the industry in whatever way we can.
That’s why we are very excited to launch TheMinerMag, a platform for journalists, analysts, industry executives, and anybody interested in bitcoin mining, with the goal to raise the standards of transparency among institutions in the industry.
You might have noticed TheMinerMag logo before: in the charts from our previous newsletter issues or on our Telegram channel. We kicked off this initiative in August when Wolfie Zhao joined BlocksBridge as a partner and head of research. Wolfie has spent the past few months turning his years of experience as both a bitcoin mining journalist and analyst at CoinDesk and The Block into coherent data and content.
We have visualized the operational data of more than 15 public mining companies from both an industry overview and individual perspectives. The data covers key metrics, from Realized Hashrate, and monthly liquidation, to cost of mining, gross margin, and cash flow activities — with more to come in the future.
The Q3 Special is one of our latest research pieces, and it’s live — go give it a read to see what kind of content we’ll be putting out via TheMinerMag.
Needless to say, there will be a lot of areas where we can improve and optimize the data as well as the website experience. Please reach us here or send your feedback or suggestions to research@theminermag.com
Cheers,
Nishant and Wolfie
